Its hard to say what influence a song can play in a given culture, but I know one thing - when I was but a mere tadpole, the song "Whats Going On" by Marvin Gaye made me think about the things going on around me.

Thats all I'm going to say about that.

Now, on the other hand, Marvin along with Lesley Gore, The Guess Who, The Grass Roots and Arlo were giving me "other" things to think about.
