About 35mm cameras
Some folks are never going to make the switch to digital cameras. Is this a good thing or otherwise? One cannot say, however, one thing is certain...Ansel Adams and other
masters would probably be among the 35mm holdouts today. Certainly film is the standard by which digital clarity is judged.
There are several differences among the group of cameras classified as 35mm. The term 35mm denotes the size of the film used in these
versatile cameras. SLR stands for single lens reflex and describes the mechanism of picture taking. 35mm cameras use a mirror and prism system whereby when the shutter
is opened the mirror retracts and light exposes the film.
A relatively new variation of this type of camera is the APS (Advanced Photo System) introduced by Kodak several years ago, which utilizes a self contained film canister and slightly smaller
film size. The downside to APS is that film is tougher to find, and the picture quality is somewhat inferior due to the smaller film size.
Other options include the point and shoot type camera which is the choice of many amateur phtographers.
Most professional photographers cling to the 35mm camera for it's versatility and manual control.
Whatever category you are in, you are sure to enjoy the 35mm film loaded camera!
